JK Technical Services offers CAiCE (Computer Aided Civil Engineering Software) terrain modeling and preliminary design services to its clients. It builds on 4 years of CAiCE modeling and data service experience, 12 years of experience in assembling digital information into ready-for-design digital plans and terrain models, and 22 years of experience in the survey & field data gathering.

JK Technical Services specializes in:

• Creating Original Ground (OG) CAiCE digital terrain models (DTMs) for your design team from various sources of data.
• Converting conventional design projects and data to BC Ministry of Transportation (BCMoT) standard CAiCE digital project file format (under supervision and final sign-off by your design personnel).
• Performing various data conversions between proprietary BCMoT file formats, CAiCE and Land Desktop.

While an employee of BCMoT, Joe Kanera (of JK Technical Services) has worked and contributed to the source field and digital data on a large number of the BCMoT projects in the Lower Mainland. He has built a majority of the OG terrain models used in the derivation of the final designs.

With BCMoT adopting CAiCE for its internal mapping and design needs in 1998, Joe has been one of its first users. Acting as a beta tester of the software and as a BCMoT CAiCE support person, Joe has acquired a unique ability and experience in CAiCE data management.

Joe has participated in all 3 phases of BCMoT CAiCE training (Survey, Design and Construction), and has been active in applying that knowledge to preliminary designs as well as construction contractor performance monitoring.

At this time JK Technical Services is only available for part-time work, CAiCE tutoring/mentoring, CAiCE instruction or for CAiCE project methodology consultations due to current long term commitments. We welcome any enquiries and will attempt to assist you as much as possible.
